honestly it's a great question! that's why I enjoy the other couple so much more bc it's mutually nice for them. the whole prince x Xiao pairing has been so strained and forceful from the beginning. I looked at the raws, I know that author intends to develop their relationship BUT prince and Shang are definitely NOT my ideal.
I think he actually likes him though his insecure about their social standing (him being poor while Mi Xi being reach as fuck). He always mention how rich mi Xi is and how he can find a better person who's at par with his social standing and also question's him as to why of all people did Mi Xi liked him.
