OKAY SO.. MEHEN AND VALER ISNT OFFICIAL BUT THE HINTS THE HINTSSSSSS IN THE NOVEL
So…. Valer teases Mehen a lot by calling him “dear” “my wife” “honey” etc and calls mc “our child”.. and there was a time that pession said that he will replace Valer as MC’s father but he told pession he has to marry Mehen for that to happen…
(WARNING BIG SPOILER)
There was also somewhere in the novel where Valer said that he already lost emotions (?) when he lost his sister, He will lose his mind if he loses both MC and Mehen as well.
I found the novel, chapter 42 of the manhwa starts here:

Not all chapters are free so i have to dig for more links
Is it just me or the reasons for their actions (marriage, contracts, etc..) seemed too shallow?
A bit but the way I see it is that
Ray: needed to be married in order to properly ascend the throne
That person needed to be talented
Hilda being a much more advanced seamstress that their world had ever seen adds to her capabilities since they are constantly behind and at odds with their neighboring empire who is much more advanced than ray’s empire in terms of fashion and fabrics which is a large industry and money maker
Hilda: needed money
Needed medical care for her mother
And wanted things like immunity and all the fabrics and things she could possibly need to produce and make the clothes and items she wanted
It was a mutual deal and there is a good amount of respect and care put into it for both sides
I feel like it's not their relationship vibes but your suspension of disbelief that is being tested here.
Like, it's not the characters themselves or their emotions but their actions based on a world where the author is trying their damn best to make every conflict solvable via mending and making clothes. I hope that made sense.
That's the issue with manhwa like The Duchess' 50 Tea Recipes, you might get a lot of fun facts about a specific thing and learn but ofc the story is gonna make that talent the center of this world in return, which might impact the realism. Or rather call it your sense of being engrossed?
But anyway, whether that's bad or not is up to each person.
That’s fair and I can understand and see where you’re coming from but I haven’t really read too many stories of the single talent genre unless it had something to do with cooking honestly so I think of I’ve read more like you have id likely have an opinion similar to yours but yeah I don’t think the story is bad it’s a decent read and I’ll probably just wait till it’s completed to read the rest honestly.
elon musk and the word “genius” in one sentence HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA broski’s a nepobaby tf you mean
Huh. He has physic and economy degree. got 87.5% at SAT score. Self-taught engineer. Stupid people are not the ones pulling the strings of the Musk Empire. You might hate Must as a person, but let's give credits when it is due.
His pop gave him $1M, and now he is the richest man out there. Does being a nepo baby disqualify you for being good at what you do? Nuh huh. You cannot decide where you start, but you sure can decide where to end.
His representation is indeed cartonish or oversimplified ("Musk" does not believe in witcraft, and I am confused why this South-African/Canadian keep calling a kid Asian boy). But, this is temu Musk for us.
Your political affiliation has little to do with your computational/conceptual ability. Let's make it make sense.
I found it very ridiculous how Americans are so focused on politics to the point of failing to be pragmatic. Additionally, Musk is not even American. Hating the man for his political views (which I found purely irrational) is one thing, denying that he has what it takes to run an Empire is another.
While people are too busy hatin on him, he is out there, making a few millions as we speak. I respect the hustle.
Your political views have nothing to do with the matter on hand. You are saying something logically fallacious and I am pointing it out. The fallacy is noted under "rhetoric" study, see 101 Logic in Philosophy.
If you are going to argue that he is far from being a genius, you have to directly attack its intelligence with probants facts. Just going along "boo like tomato juice, must be the devil" is not rationale.
If you are unable to think outside politics, your views of the world is VERY restricted and BIASED.
