The plot is so good! No over the top drama, no murdering between sisters drama, no prince fall in love with protagonist drama, no evil queen mother drama OMG IM SERIOUSLY IN LOVE! Also I love how it has a good touch of how people of this age should have acted - like the debutante ball, in most novel the villainess will appear and ruin the ball, etc but nahhhh it all went well! I love all of her daughters too so wise and matured. They backed up Ashley in case someone talks bad about her
I loveee Kenneth and Latte moments. Not the lover-like moments but their friendship moments where they bicker with each other and their talks its rare to see other male leads being friends with mc instead of potential love rival

He’s worried for her safety so he’s not going to marry her (cause he has a lot of enemies)? Is that it? Usually its the female charac whos frustrating but this ‘father’ right here makes me feel like hitting my head to the wall lol
They always talked about a wall he built around him and he doesn't let anyone else in
While the villainess is suitable for empress role he didn't choose her to love her
But for people with trust issues it's really hard to completely open up to someone and show them weakness, he isn't sure he loves her really , he knows she is all you mentioned but also, look he didn't do anything too special for a captive princess and his fiance already did all that
1. Her body can't handle all the magical power of his empire.
2. He's not sure how to open up to her.
in chapter 41 doesn't he talk abt how he feels like she doesn't have any feelings for him? i dont blame him for putting up a wall when he doesn't think she has any feelings for him lol. in that chapter he also said that the responsibilities of being emperor are a lot, so he doesn't wanna get her involved for no reason (i think)
He want to restrain his feelings for her. He doesn't want to get much further beacuse if ever his feelings blooms into love he knew that he couldn't keep her by his side cuz our MC can't handle the intensity of magic or even a small release of mana if they ever live together our MC might die living in that country.
I love aquaman but I felt like the author is too biased in making sure the ending would be BL, thus all the drama when mc is in a relay with a girl (in which like every other BL, the nice girl slowly changes personality so we will all root for ML, typical troupe) I hope if the author is gonna go with BL route then she/he should’ve just start off with that.I have high hopes for this one!

Omg me too! With the whole graduation thing, I really thought we were "graduating" from this story too, but then on the last few page, when the monologue said instead "I want to continue this", I felt like it was the author saying that and then - yes! volume 8! ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
Why are all male leads like this. Instead of saying “how bout i buy u lunch, how bout i treat u, bla bla” they go all domineering sht “SIT DOWN. EAT. WAIT FOR ME HERE.” Yoooo theres steps to getting closer to ‘strangers’ I would be terrified too if someone Im not close to do things like this to me.
I read this every year without fail, only for chapter 1 and chapter 5 (Kiyohito’s story) and every single time I cried. “I realize there is this kind of love” Kiyohito experienced all kind of love throughout his life, but it all came with a price along the way. It was so so so sad, but at the same time I hope he died knowing he was truly loved. Damn, u guys gonna see me in 2021 commenting again because I love this short story a lil bit too much
