I suppose it's just symbolic of the ",will you kill for me" in a literal term.
Someone mentioned it's bcz Todd is "a hunter" and I'm like, no dawg. You're not "hunting" when you're just shooting up an animal in an enclosure where it has nowhere to run!!! And nowhere to HIDE!!! That's just outright KILLING. And on top of that it's just senseless killing. Since hunting is usually for 1) meat 2) clothing 3) sports. This one, esp. done randomly not even for those purposes. It's just killing to prove loyalty.
