I came here after i noticed the changed of art style. Someone can tell me what happened to the artist? Did the artist got replaced? Its used to have a good art style and amazing story but now it's like an ai generated. I might drop this if this drags on

Og hero is a villain since the beginning tho, since the 2nd timeline until this timeline. Og hero is a regressor. In the first timeline, Zeke chased away from home, became a mercenary and soon became a hero for fighting the demon king (Layla). Og hero was a beggar passerby. Og hero wanted to be a hero so bad, the mastermind gave him the power of regression and since the 2nd timeline they've been creating the powerful people they know in the 1st timeline turning them into villains and defeating them to make og hero a famous hero. Also, Og hero are collecting powerful and beautiful women as his comrade deliberately, that's why he made the men in Zeke hero's comrades of heroes villain to eliminate completion so that he would have a perfect harem.

The mastermind gave og hero a power to be the "main character". There's a lot of schemes behind the scene, it's also connected to their world history etc and Layla's existence as the "core" of that power. Anyways it's super interesting once you found out the whole plot, it's not that simple.
Additional spoiler:our mc in the 1st timeline is the epitome of a hero(righteous, brave, but not stupid or naive to be kind-he just have strong sense of justice and doesn't want their kingdom to fall) because every city that the demon king(layla) visited will be erased into nothingness (Girl is a fucking menace). So there's 3 versions of Zeke in the thousands of regressed timelines.
1. Hero Zeke. Named Zeke Brave. From the very first timeline.
2. Villain Zeke. Named Zeke Mohr. From the 2nd timeline to the 2nd to the last.
3. Current Zeke. The villain trying to live a kind life.
And it's so funny when Zeke and Layla met the og Zeke and Layla from the 1st timeline because they are the exact opposite and Zeke is SO DISGUSTED at og Zeke because og Zeke is like Glen(the hero wannabe rn) with his own face. While Layla doesn't like the og Layla because og Layla is bad like really bad.
And you know what?
I felt like the supposed hero and villain in the first timeline has something going between them, the tension is just so intense.

That white haired girl is Layla, the ex-demon king, she didn't come from the future. She was asleep the whole time since the first regression starts because she is the medium of the regression power. To be exact she knew the "pasts" because she saw everything that's happening in her dreams that's why it's fragmented and most are lost. She didn't remember her original self but she liked the Zeke that she saw in the first timeline so she became kind-the opposite of her evil self from 1st timeline. That's why in this life, when she observed that this version of Zeke is not a villain yet, she will do her best to make him a good person- it's funny how she will keep her eyes on Zeke and got overly obsessed in trying to make Zeke a hero so Zeke be like "Eww, I ain't gonna be a hero." But proceeds to use this to get Layla's attention.
What's annoying is that, this is the first time the hero(hero wanna be) encountered Layla since she was asleep the whole time he's living the best of his life so when he saw Layla is so gorgeous and she's with Zeke, he's like "I'm gonna throw away the useless girl beside me and make her mine." The dude treated the girl he seduced like trash because she doesn't want to hold shield instead and kept on using sword (the girl like sword more but Glen wants her to switch shield coz he needs a shield user companion. The way he tried to gaslight her, guilt trip her, and just kept on making her feel like sht is so disgusting)

It's very complicated. The power of regressing is from the very first very powerful empire in their world, the ruins are made by that empire and there will be a lot of traces of the empire in there. It's too complicated so I'll try to shorten the explanation, the emperor of the empire is a genius and he managed to bound the world tree to create a system that will control it. They made 4 fake world trees to support that power and used the empire's greatest genius princess as the core of the system to operate it. Through all that, they can now turn back time when the requirements are met.
Why create it? There's a rumor that in the hundreds of years of history of that empire, there's no incompetent emperor, that's why the empire remain strong and powerful above everything else for thousands of years before it's fall. The reason is the power of regressing, all th chosen emperor in the empire will inherit the power of regressing- all of them at least regressed thousands of times to become perfect. However, there's a downside, they will fear that the regression will never end and they will go crazy, so, the emperor would lay on a specially made coffin on their own will and sleep eternally to die. However, the last emperor is a bit crazy, instead of regressing to make the empire ore powerful, he became a tyrant and had gone crazy. In the last emperor's regression, there's a big rebellion and the secret of the power was found out. They did their best to eliminate the emperor, however, a lot things happened and the thing that's holding the power of regression was lost.
A thousand years later, Layla, the core of the power, escaped from the system and found out that her empire is gone and completely forgotten. She wants to return from that time when the empire is still standing so she look for they key of the power. On the way, because she's such a baddie, she view people as ants, she skilled even when it's unnecessary.
Fast forward, the remnants of the empire, the rebellion's descendants are holding the key. They didn't use the key because they're scared of the side effects so they used the hero wanna be. The key holder aren't regressing but through Layla when she's in the core, he will see the things happening in Glen's regression and so he will be like regressing too. I'm not sure what's his motive tho, did he want to become emperor of powerful or something? Zeke killed him before spitting it out, Zeke never dawdle when killing enemies.
What's amazing is Glen because he surpassed those emperors when it comes to obsession. The side effect is that emperors would be scared of eternal life and they will let go of their obsession on their own for eternal sleep but Glen surpassed that, he was so obsessed with becoming a hero that he became a monster in the end. A very strong monster, he almost killed everyone if he's not discovered early.
Anyways there's a lot more but I explained it the shortest as possible
