I guess I did kind of forget about the yaoi-logic aspect, and yaoi's enthusiastic embrace of cliche. It'd be refreshing if it was more realistic than that, though. Surely not EVERY homophobic woman in yaoi was left for another man!

I think that she's no idea how to deal with the situation. Even in these days some parents doesn't know how to manage certain things regarding with their children's sexual education. Probably you will think that most parents are open mind and have the delicacy and intelligence to proper talk about it, but you'll be surprise of how many mothers and fathers are from the "cavern era" (at least from my own experience and POV, I'm not a parent but I'm surrounded by them .. An age thing ha!), though I think that it's lack of honesty from themselves, be humble enough to recognize that you don't know everything and just search some orientation to inform and educate themselves on how to be a parent of the 21 century. Kids these days are more challenging due to the amount of information available. I do believe that a person who decide to be a parent in these days need to have some kind of orientation, be educated and all to raise a child properly. But this is too serious to be treated here LOL, just I found it interesting to discuss it.
Ps: no offense, I'm just giving my opinion based in my own experiences/POV, certainly must exist parents who are capable to manage these situations without being coercive or castrating...
