As a person who lost their father, I could understand why her father had to act that way...yes, I agree it was a stupid choice to choose but he was dying, he was desperate to protect her in his own way. Indeed it was selfish but if you were in his shoes as a dying parent I would assure you would do the same thing or if not, I would assure you would even think about choosing it but decided to spend your last days with your loved ones. Anyways, my point is, I understand your hatred towards MC's father but bcs of the overwhelming fear and pain he couldnt think straight and also bcs depression it influenced his mind that he is nothing but a burden to his daughter. Say he is selfish, I get it but its not an excuse to hate him. Say he is just a fictional character, I dont care it just shows me that every parent would do anything to protect their child in their own way.
