Shiro likes Kei since he has some obsession. He needs a constant partner to rely on, but this doesn't go as deep as loving the partner romantically. He doesn't seem to be one to fall in love.
Rin is straight since he got married to a girl from the other establishment. He's just attached to Joe since they came to the circus at the same time and have spent months together.
Joe went with Samu since they're physically compatible. And as he mentioned, he's just all about sex, money, and gsmbling.
So all in all, this is just a story of those who work selling their bodies to survive.
Don't get me wrong. I don't criticise or look down on the work and those who do it.

IMO, this is a one sided love story.
