A lot of ppl believe this actually, for ppl whos parents are actually decent and did their best to care for them and love them, their parents are like this being that can never be wrong, so its hard for them to believe that there are truely evil parents without direct proof (like i guess in this case those pictures, before that he prob thought, they probably have bad personality or smthing which was hard on airi when she was growing up not actual abuse). Like even my mom thinks like that despite her seeing how shitty my dads mom is.
