The reason is because he didn’t want a one person ruling over everyone, it was also not the ending he was going for. He stated something on the lines: “Why should we be ruled under one person? That’s now how it used to be-“
(He was just stating how they didn’t live that way before, FYI those weren’t his words, but something like that, I forgot the lines lol’) he did mention that it would be nice if he could even rule over Yoo Joonghyuk, and have him suck up to him, but then again, it wouldn’t be the ending he was going for.

soo-won should either die or inherit zeno's powers. it's both a chance for him to be able to protect kouka forever and a punishment for everything he did, sounds pretty cool imo he doesn't seem like someone who'd go insane after all that

Lol that’s funny. I never once thought he needed to be punished for some reason. This story could’ve very well been told from his perspective too. After learning his backstory, he felt like he very well could’ve been this story’s protagonist. It’s not like he’s a tyrant or anything like that and you can tell that he even misses his relationship with both Hak and Yona, but he prioritized his revenge because his father mattered that much to him.
Anyway, I just felt like sharing how I felt about it. I would also be interested to see him inherit Zeno’s powers, but only if it means that Zeno gets to naturally grow old and die. Not just die.

Exactly
I’m not a fan of soowon but what he did for revenge. It was also for kouka like it was mentioned before king ill was not a good king( he didn’t believe in his own power to overcome situations but he strongly believed in gragons and gods, how some far-away city were in bad situations) but soowon is and has the capability to make kouka strong again
So I don’t thing what he did for the kingdom is wrong
Dont get me wrong as my name indicates im yona hak shipper

i'm a huge soo-won stan as well but his father was a tyrant, when he was talking to yona he even tried justifying his war crimes and even though he had no other choice he still betrayed his childhood friends. just because you have acceptable reasons for doing something doesn't mean it's not morally wrong. same with yona, hak and literally every other character in this story. if he wants to protect kouka no matter what he should protect kouka no matter what, even if it means living thousands of years. also zeno should naturally die once his power is passed on to someone else
the inventory skill is so cursed i'm glad we didn't have to see it from the front
