"yona should overthrow soo-won to get revenge for her father not caring about the internal conflict it would cause for the country"
"soo-won is evil for following his 'selfish desires' and getting revenge for his father and it doesn't matter if the country has started recovering under his ruling or not"
double standarts amiright

Esp for Soo-won who was very bright for his age, he bided his time and then decided that Il wasn't a worthy king. He was doing what was right in his perspective - there was unease after he took over from the pervious king and people from the five tribes were unsupportive (maybe only the wind tribe was) on top of that, IL kept giving away land to appease the other opposing kingdoms, Soo-won definitely did predict his actions would bring the Koka kingdom to ruin.
Though I think it was only when he was seated on the throne that he knew of his illness? Or maybe looked into it while his mother had it to try to find a cure?
He was an acting bandaid to stop a revolt from happening against Il, and perhaps the destruction of the wind tribe (if you count that civil war would happen to overthrow the king)
As someone who's wandered the lands of her people during the time she was deemed dead, Yona has definitely adapted and seen how people living in the outskirts of the kingdom are doing, and has definitely grown alot.
I just hope Soo-won doesn't succumb to the illness too soon.

I agree with what you said. In the beginning, Soowon waited to see what type of monarch King Il would be and staged a takeover with the kingdom and the people in mind. In the beginning Soowon was actually a good monarch BUT in his goal of making the kingdom strong enough that no other country would attack it, he has lost sight of his reason for taking over the throne: “for the good of the people.” War just for the sake of power or/and land is never good for the people especially an unnecessary war.

He becomes desperate since there is no one to take over him / be "groomed" (now that word ahs a negative connotation but here it's positive) to be king after him.
He's desperate since the stupid dragon illness is plaguing him otherwise I think his "descent to madness" would be after he conquerors a more land

He still has that goal in mind, and he is working for the people of his kingdom, but he need to strengthen that kingdom that is falling down, and even though for us it is unreasonable, at that time, war was one of the best way to obtain prosperity for a kingdom.
Anyway, I am so happy that someone is talking about how everyone is condemning soo-woon for killing Il, but they want yona to kill soo-woon. Does it make sense? Actually, I hope that soo-woon could have a happy ending because, all of this shit was caused by their fathers. And differently from Yona who grew up with love from anyone, he was surrounded by people that hated Il...

Yeah violence begets violence. It's up to Yona now to consider whether she wants to persist that cycle.
Mostly it was Yuhon persecuting the temple and then Il taking the temple girl as his wife, and then the incident that happened to Il's wife caused Il to regret and kill Yuhon and then after Yon-hi succumbed to her illness, Soo-won had decided to kill Il. Yona had once considered what she'd do after attaining the four dragons (shortly after Zeno dropped in on them) and said she had to consider what would be for the good of Koka.

why do people ship psyche x heli i don't get it

TBH I WANT her to end up with heli but she won't... at least that's what I think... In most cases the overly loyal and obedient guy only earns trust not love ..... So if you ask me Medea is most likely to end up with the red haired than heli...But who cares we get to be blessed with a comic that doesn't focus too much on romance but with drama and action. So they should stop with the romance it best of she didn't fall in love in the first place(๑•ㅂ•)و✧

as much as i'm thankful for the translation the translator notes ain't it man. yall are simplifying soo-won's character by making him seem like just some power-hungry tyrant who doesn't give a damn about anyone

him putting some things above others doesn't mean he doesn't give a damn though, he's just a perfectionist with clear goals. he clearly does care about yona and hak, this was shown many times in the story. some of his methods are straight up wrong but he doesn't really 'enjoy' war and bloodshed, he's just ready to do anything to make the country stronger to the point it's no longer threathened by any other. he's not even power hungry for his own sake, if he's willing to leave the throne to zeno after he died that means his 'ideals' aren't really that different from zeno's
the author has a weird obsession with getting jooin sexually assaulted when he's unconcious then making him think it's a dream
