I know this probably will end with them in love, getting married in the palace, live a happy life and shit, but this kind of stories, make me feel wierd. Why is always the princess the one to sacrifice their freedom, why can't he just quit he's royal status, I get it they sacrifice for love in other stories but in this case he was literally force in to a marriage he didn't want u.u.
I agree with this! It’s just ridiculous. All of his autonomy and freedom gets taken away overnight, but the oh so affectionate prince is there to cut deals to get little bits of it back, swoop in when he’s vulnerable, and basically reap the benefits of Baekwoo’s crisis all while shrugging because he supposedly has no say in anything. How kind of him to allow Baekwoo to continue architecture as a hobby after he drops out of college to get married and start popping out babies. The mc doesn’t feel realistic because no sane person would be that accepting of such an absurd situation. This is such a common issue because you can’t cast a toxic person as a sympathetic, romantic character without dumbing down the victim because if they actually responded in a traumatized way, there would be no way to keep the ship afloat with the readers.
