I really REALLY dislike that he slapped his wife, like even following up with the statement of “I didn’t expect a physical slap to get rid of the spirit” felt so demoralizing. They honestly portrayed someone who’s aromantic in a wonderful way I won’t lie. I pity him deeply because while he cannot love her the way thats viewed or preconceived as “normal” he still loved her, HOWEVER, none of this excuses at ALL communicating with your partner, If he cared about her as much as he claims, he would have told her that’s how he feels, that romantic feelings are hard for him and things would be different. She could have worked with him and understood!! He’ll never know and he’ll always regret not communicating as he should. Communication is so fucking important man, he really needed to express things to her because now that’ll leave an insanely deep scar.
