Why are people so critical of chinese series like this when it’s very clear it’s not to be thought about that seriously. This series is cute but some of the posts about it being “bad” and poorly written is because it’s a chinese series and that subtle racism is just not it..
I think bringing up the fact the series is bad or has a poor plot because its a Chinese novel/manhwa is just racist like cant you just say that its poorly written or something without bringing up the fact that its a Chinese series?? This seems to only happen with Chinese series as a whole too its so weird.
Its bad. Saying it's bad isn't being racist. Its bad because the art is all over the place, the grammer is a nightmare, the plot has been thrown out with the baby and the bathwater. Its not good, it made scrape by has meager but if it ain't meager its bad. Saying its bad just cause its Chinese is racist but sayings its bad is not.

I agree that there are good Chinese manhuas out there, but I generally avoid them because the tropes that they normally follow annoy me. Like the drugged sex, the over the top rude MLs, the super unfortunate circumstances of the FLs, the FL's enemies are one-dimensional and have super luck, and the harems for those OP MC manhuas.
Personally I’m critical of Chinese series because of their raging misogyny. China is severely patriarchal and that is reflected in their media. Even the tiger and the rose (whilst refreshingly different with some important discourse) is still backwards by western standards- not that western countries are perfect.
However, lately there has been a slight shift in Chinese manhuas and some have toned down the sexism. It’s still only a few but that’s a lot more than a couple years ago. This manhua was one of the pleasant surprises. Still patriarchal but at a level which is ignorable.
This is just one reason to criticise manhua. There are plenty more. It has nothing to do with racism.
