The bio dad is really reckless. He should let her stay SAFELY at the duchy and let her be part of the duke's family while he dethrones the Empress. No wonder he has no power when he reacts with emotion and no plans. He would've also partnered up with the Duke to take the Empress down but instead is making him an enemy.
He also sees how she doesn't like him or the brother. Maybe try to slow be part of her life instead of forcing it.

OMG I LOVE THIS NOVEL!!! I CANT WAIT!!!

Spoilers
So basically she left after being neglected for years. The spark that started it was she wanted him to look at her sister's suicide. She doesn't believe she would do that. He basically tells her no. She decides to leave and instigate it herself after leaving divorce papers. The thing is that he does love her. He thinks that if he makes enough money and fame nobody can look down on her for being a commoner. Which backfires on him since she is looked down on bc he is never there with her and is always working.

The novel is way better. This was hella rushed at the end. Trust when I say I don't like Raymond but you can definitely see why in the novel she forgives him other than he almost died to save his kid. If you liked this story but didn't like the ending or thought it could've been better I would recommend reading the novel. It might not change your opinion of Raymond but it's definitely better this.....

Thank you for saying this. I actually liked the manhua, but didn’t like where the relationship was going. It felt like the author led themselves into a corner and just decided to use ‘he sacrificed himself’ trope to push MC to forgive him.
Compared to other MLs in the same trope, Raymond didn’t commit anything disgusting, so author had everything to make redemption satisfying.
For people freaking out, the author is releasing side stories!
