So there are at least 3 timelines:
1st: Is where the original story takes place. Meaning, it was the timeline where the story from the book our mc read happened. The stella in that timeline is the original one
2nd: This time, its when our mc entered the story. Looks like she didn't die when she came inside the story so she thought, if she followed the flow of the original story (dana sacrificing her life for arcane), she can get back to her own world. Our mc fulfilled Dan's role. She did sacrificed her life so the flow of the original story can happen.
3rd: The third timeline is the present one. After dana sacrificed herself, arcane and stella were still together BUT arcane felt empty. Even though he love stella, he felt that the sacrifices of the people important to him is not worth it. So he turned back the time. Arcane was the only one who knew about the past for now. Our mc, dana, thought this is her first time relieving the life of the og dana thats why she was confused why the story is different from what she read.
Also another spoiler regarding arcane's feelings for dana:
It looks like in the second timeline, he already likes our mc but didn't pursue her because he know dana only treats him like her brother. Dana treated him like that because she wants the original story to happen and for that to happen, arcane and stella should be the endgame. When arcane met stella, he thought how different she was from dana and from then on he developed feelings for her. When dana died and also his butler(?), he realized these sacrifices is not worth it and he felt empty.

I don't get how a lot of people dropped this because they find Hilise being like that boring. Please remember how she already died 7 times and this is her 8th life. I know a lot pointed out that there are mc in other stories who experienced this as well but not everyone coped with their trauma the same way. Hilise died painfully in every single time. She was beaten, tortured and k*lled by her brother and father multiple times. "Why doesn't she want to get revenge on them?" guys, she already did. She k*lled them in her 7th life. When ricardo asked her to die in for gabrielle's sake, that was hilise's last straw so she finally decided to k*ll her family then k*ll herself. When hilise k*lled them, she realized how unfulfilled she felt. How it was so easy to end their lives and its not worth all the sufferings she endured. So when she got to her 8th life, her goal is to find a way to k*ll herself permanently without her going back to the past like what happened to her past lives. You can't blame for not feeling anything anymore and having no expression most of the time. She endured and suffered enough, the trauma she experienced is severe. Pretty sure she will eventually have more character development so I really hope more people would be patient and understand hilise.
Yep, and more importantly we're just in the beginning of the story. I don't get why a lot of people wouldn't like her so early in the game. Things are being set up to get the plot going, they're so impatient

I absolutely agree with you.. This is the first thing I think when people says she is too expressionless and things like that.. Even the smallest trauma can change the person you originally were.. She died like 7 effing time.. Most people can't even handle when facing death for the first time and they dare talk like her trauma is no big deal.. In case anyone forgot, Hilise is originally an innocent character in her first life and so on.. She changed completely when she's on her 8th life and I'm proud of her for that..

Agreed!! And I think the way Hilise behaves is much more suited to the situation, her expressionless~Ness tells us how much hurt she was and how she has absolutely given up on what she thought was important before.
And unlike many webtoons where Mc just gets used to the situation after reincarnating or there is a timeskip I prefer this much more.
Though there are times I wish that she really fulfills her wish of dying (like in Kill the Villainess) and if the romance comes into picture I hope there is no abrupt change in her character, I want it to be slow because of how difficult 7 lives have been for her, romantic love is probably the thing she least wants.
I actually prefer her being expressionless than most FL being too expressive.
For me, romance is probably the things she really need although, she did lose hope on that area. The poor girl just wanted to be loved. She still have hopes on her brother up until her seventh life.
