I hated every character except for Tetsuo to the bitter end. Fucking selfish pricks. Yeah, they got better, but I don't give a fuck.
There was no need to back him into a corner like that. The author tried to make it out to be the inevitable culmination of things, but if he had only gotten the love and support any kid needs there's a chance he would've done just fine. I especially dislike his bitch of a father. "Tough love" my ass. I hated Sakaida the most for a while, but now I'm more neutral bad toward him. I'm okay with realistically flawed chatacters to an extent, but I hate when such self-obsessed pricks are the ones who get all the support from people around him, when the people who really deserve help (Tetsuo) are neglected. That was really my biggest issue with this manga. I am not okay with the ending, but honestly I don't care all that much anymore. I liked certain parts of this manga quite a bit, but overall it doesn't rank very highly in the manga I've read. I should add that I teared up a bit when Tetsuo cut himself. One of my classmates died yesterday and the pain of death is still fresh in my mind, and the unfairness of it all. I probably would have cried a little anyway, though.
