The story is very clear on how their fault with each other is that Kenji had very diabolical feelings for a boy, and a child at that and he couldn't move on from that. Yuu unconsciously blames Kenji for "raping" him to which we now know around chapter 3 that he actually didn't and he remembered it wrong but he wanted to blame something or anything that turned him gay to which according to himself, ruined his life so that's just how he copes with it.
