Even though I've read the novel, this chapter was too painful to read. Even though they're married and Riftan cares for Max they don't seem close to each other at all. I'm hoping they soon enough bridge the gap they have.
In real life it's ok or normal to have a casual physical relationship if people involved consent to it. Doggo might not understand this because duh he's a dog. And while I agree uke should have thought it through before doing it with doggo, I don't understand all the hate the uke is getting when he's just uncertain about his feelings for Doggo.
