What? i dont think its the past? It was right before kou confessed. But it does happen. Sometimes someones out of your radar until they tell you they love you. Then when confession happens suddenly theyre all you think about.

Is a bittersweet ending. Is not tragic or completly sad, but not totally happy either. For me, is more realistic, at least for one character. I recommend you give it a try because is a very well done manga.

as for the other mc, (his bestie) it's complicated. bittersweet if you must. his choice may disappoint readers (bec. welp, we're 99.9% fujos here) but for the character, it's HIS CHOSEN HAPPY ENDING.
i prefer it that way bec that made the story realistic.
