Can someone explain why mc cant just show everyone her bruises, or tell her husband that she doesnt like that maid? Or "hey i need 2 more maids to look after me" so they can protect her? Is it so hard to kick that maid out??
First is the story basically saying she can’t reveal shit about her being abused, and second it’s cause her maid is a trained assassin. In the novel, they describe it but in the manhwa they haven’t. Anyway, the maid can easily kill her before anybody can do anything, since they aren’t gonna suspect it(especially since they still think her family treasures and values her, so they would never hurt her) the best she could do was get Anna back, so that the other maid couldn’t abuse her so easily anymore
It's explained in the novel but not in the manhwa but basically she can't reveal stuff that's ooc (out of character) of her original print and could cause significant changes in the story until she removes the authors authority. Like remember she tried to reveal stuff to the Duchess and fainted? Its like that, the more the authority is removed the more Edith can speak her mind. There many times in the novel that she tries to speak up only to choke up on it. Secondly edith was afraid that if it were revealed that she isn't treasured by her family her standing and value for the ludwigs will fall and she'll be discarded because she had no use anymore as a bargaining chip against the righelofs as she wasn't sure if Killian liked her enough to protect her from being thrown away.
Bro i thought i replied to this I'm sorry. But yeah killeon sees mc crying infront of linon, he gets jealous, tries to sleep with mc after accusing her of being a temptress or something like that (wtf moment ik but he's not freed from the novel's influence that is the only reason he gets a pass), he takes of her clothes and sees the bruises on her back, he's shocked yada yada and puts her dress back on and leaves the room. He returns to her room and puts ointment on her wounds and lets her sleep. In the morning he kicks out the maid.

Looks promising!
