Just in case some of you think its a good idea; hiding feelings and and lying about feeling sadness is not a good thing and it does NOT help in the long run (coming from experience). So good luck Ruby with lying (or I just didnt get the ending (￣∇￣")?)
I think what she meant was hiding her feeling from the audience, from a professional stand point. Like Ruby stood strong in front of the audience, but still showed her bitterness when needed (like the last chapter says), but unlike her mother she most likely isn't hiding from those dear from her. Like a persona can change a lot, but for her to suddenly to "hide her feelings" would go against her character. She wasn't that kind, always being honest, especially in the past. Now she matured and learned when to show her volnerable side and when to be strong

This actually made me love mc. Him talking about his feelings and how unfair ml being was so nice, and not enough stories do this. And him rebelling isnt childish at all, he is just trying to show ml how he feels through actions because words dont reach him.
