Yeah I feel like this too, it might because its an amateur project? The concept is nice, but execution is not, most likely because author had no prior experience with writing. And since we don't really get backstory or any deeper view into characters it's harder to immers with world and feel what characters do. It also looks kind of looks rushed, if author spend a bit more time learning how to make immersive world, the story wouldn't be so flat
