Hmnmnm, i think there is a fluctuation in logic here. İn the first place the marriages were to have an heir with that special ability, its not some custom, but rather,, a logical obligation? İ feel like an ending with a new found fact about maintaining the ability revealed would have made more sense than everyone just agreeing to love marriages
