Well, it's often used when a character is oblivious to his own feeling. And MC is really oblivious so he will need a little push. But I'm not sure if they will be an actual love triangle but it will habe a misunderstanding with their relationship for sure. Either on purpose by this fellow actor to "help" his new friend or by accident.
