Bitch that is literally his best friend. he is afraid that Ryuuhei would change his point of view of MC if he did confess which is fucking scary if you did that to the person you care the most. Hell I have close friends who I haven't come out yet because I'm afraid that it might ruin our relationship or that they would behave awkwardly with me.
He may not be the type of perfect good MCs but damn is he one of the realest and flawed ones out there and I love him for it.
Being closeted is like being in an invisible prison. The fear of people finding out your sexuality and judging you, hurting you, disowning you (by your family) or even being forced to go to a gay conversion therapy is what keeps us from coming out. So being forced to come out just like what Ono did to him terrified me.
