Not to be that one guy but I hope the author sort of quickens up this next arc, it wasn’t unenjoyable in the novel (and maybe it’s just my dislike for reading words) but it felt like a chore to get to the good part

I’m lowkey so confused.. so they’re saying this was Noel’s “past life” but then also that it’s her mom and him in their current bodies, so how is that supposed to work? Do the ancestors just look exactly like them? Or is it actually them and dragons just live that long? But if that’s true, why is this scene only a ‘nightmare’ to Noel and not an actual memory? Is it actually that time was turned back?
If that’s true it explains most of the gaps, but then I’m confused about the grown up Ruby that can communicate with Noel and interfere with Aria’s ability. Assuming the story Eve remembers was the past life where the nightmares take place and someone turned back time, how is her soul in two places at once? Like child Ruby has memories of the past and seems to remember (probably) even more than Eve, so how is it possible her grown up soul is also in this timeline? Assuming she made a bet with past Noel, that would mean his soul is in his current body, so (allegedly) why isn’t Ruby’s? And how is she just actively inside everyone’s memory to the point she personally stops Aria from peaking?
I really hope they dumb it down a bit when it’s explained. I was already having a hard time rationalizing why they think a heart stolen by ancestors would be passed down without the descendants’ knowledge, but that’s a rant for another time
