The Marques has been on my radar since the beginning, his eyes and composure is so darn attractive! I can't help but show little interest in the series except when it involves fatherxdaughter moments with a few surprises among the other characters. But now the story is getting noticeably interesting (around chapter 70) between the prince and his betrothed. Its taking forever to get to the main story but I appreciate the author fleshing out her connections or relationships before getting around to the prince.

Another part of me wanted Gracie to be charmed by the princess after pointing out she could change the law and be in line to succeed. Don't get me wrong I adore the Prince and Princess together, but just for this chapter, I felt electric vibes beyond friendship as Gracie is extremely independent- excelling in her abilities and mannerism that seems prince like while the princess is wise, supportive, and strong-willed caught me by surprise wishing for these two strong female characters in a relationship. I would read it if more GL books held characteristics like theirs!
Maybe its because the prince has been absent for too long (momentarily forgot about him as Gracie's outburst/background distracted me) I'm starting to hallucinate something that doesn't exist but even if it was unlikely, I believe they would have made a strikingly handsome couple.

You are warned!
So after looking at the raws by following the images, I really like the addition of the curse because the MC's are opposites in their feelings for each other, with only the Dukes affectionate personality is shared with the Duchess. She was at first scared of him and tried on multiple occasions to avoid him and failed but after marriage, she is still on edge but truly fell for him despite having placed a curse but wishes to lift it for his sake- out of love and survival- by offering him his free will back. Even if she is aware he despises her, she wants to help him.
He is destructive and cruel but to see him as a lovesick fool adds a bit of comedy for his character. He still distrusts her thinking she cursed him to save herself but realizes, from what I can gather, it was an accident and she's kindhearted, slightly wild, and genuinely loves him as he remembers everything from the curse's split personality, seeing she always wore her heart on her sleeve and expresses her true self.
He is still distrustful and hard in his old ways when the curse slips but so does his cold defenses begin to crack bit by bit through her actions, placing his faith in her to lift the curse and involved in hilarious situations that are embarrassing to the public because of his known dark reputation. He sees her in a new light with each encounter and deeper understanding. Giving this curse a nice spin to a love-hate romance story.
Also, I believe she didn't leave because of the pressure and chaos we saw in the first few chapters troubling literally everyone in the country, as well as the king by ignoring all his duties because of his overpowering love for her. To put everything in order she decided to stay by his side and lift the curse for her freedom but fell for him deeply during this time because she was neglected due to her upbringing and grew attached to the Dukes tenderness yet ashamed his cursed personality is forcing the Duke to be affectionate and aware its all an illusion. Knowing this fact, she still fell in love with him but continues to find a way to break the curse.
The Dutchess is at first timid when the Duke momentarily reverts back because she is familiar with the friendly personality than the cruel one until they eventually warm up to each other. However when the curse slips during the earlier stages and the duke emerges, he always has a scary expression and spouting vicious things or accusing her of trying to control him because of the curse but she quickly denies his theories while in tears and later explains her side as well as her plan to release him from the curse which leads them to depend on one another, becoming a comical pair.
*****So that sums up what I gathered, hoped it helped.
This series and its characters are too precious, my heart is bursting with happiness!
