that’s kind of the point… the mc is trapped in a shitty abusive relationship where he has to constantly pretend everything’s ok or else risk his whole livelihood. the author doesn’t dance around it & portrays it pretty well.
This was actually really good, and I love that final philosophical debate at the end there questioning whether the severity of an action is more important than the action’s impact on society.
