The ending was suppose to end with angst from the start as we see how it ended during his highschool days to the point of his car crash. He was able to survive ended up in a coma. The story was originally suppose to make the MC die as jin gu couldnt keep the relationship. If it werent for the coma they wouldve had some slight chance of ending up together. This ending was just showing the unfortunate and unfinished plot that MC didnt end up knowing. Well thats what i think
