This chapter is soo short, I thought when someone said "rip up the contract yes!" meant Yigon actually ripped up the contract but instead its just them having a fight where Taekang is terminating the contract. LOVE the conversation happening here tho bc Yigon is telling him EXACTLY how and what has happened instead of just shutting up and leaving. This shouldn't have ended when Yigon said "you think im a delusional lunatic" NOOOOO I CANT WAIT ANOTHER WEEK FOR ANOTHER SHORT CHAPTER PLEASSE!
Might just be me but I find it a bit distasteful to reference Kiss me Liar, the original story but not reference it accurately. If I remember correctly, Josh finds Yeonwoo on the side of the building and offers him a water and has a small chitchat before Keith interrupts but also besides that is the stark difference in art of portraying Yeonwoo and Keith. I didn't even recognize Yeonwoo until his name was said. It defeats the purpose of continuity but I guess doesn't have much bearing on this story on its own.
I know people said this is a good story based on the novel but its such a stupid plotline to have Josh willingly and purposefully jerk Chase off to relieve the pheremones? I guess this story will do the same in not explaining to us how their omegaverse works.
If you really want the full experience you have to read the novels. You will see that the KML manhwa adaption also left out a lot of things.
And those adaption are from different artists, so it makes sence that the art is different.
For one Josh is marked by Chase and affected by his pheromones, he is the father of his child, the only male he ever had sex with and bottomed, he loves his face, and he is his client at the moment, so there are several connection.
Dominant alphas ( all psychopath in way or another) produce a lot of pheromones, if a too high number of pheromones accumulates in their body without releasing them it can cause braindamage.
I can got further here, but that would be spoilers.
I could tell you what I know about this omegaverse ( this for example has 4 secondary genders + the dominant variants and mutation), but don't know if those are new informations for you or not.
Can someone just spoil it for me as I dropped this around chapter 60 something. So is Jake a cop? Agent for an actual govt agency? Is he a "good guy"? I heard some people say the action is only starting now so...what's the goal? Kill Ross?
yes. hes apart of the CIA/FBI (cant remember for the life of me) and is posing undercover as one of the mercifuls. ross has been a problem for a while so theyve been aiming to get rid of him, but efforts are just now ramping up.
jake is a "good guy" insofar as the actual CIA/FBI are good guys. so... not lol. he is morally dubious at best.
Not super upset about the ML as it sorta makes sense that he does not believe him. HOWEVER, there's some plot holes here and there like I remember Taekang explicitly asking his people to fact check Yigon's background and having a hard time checking his medical records (CH 10) and then finding out that he never went to a psychiatrist so --> he believes "Yigon is telling the truth or he didn't tell anybody these ridiculous fears" (CH 17).
BUT does this mean they weren't able to or DID NOT fact check his psychotic brother? I would understand if CH 17's scene was followed up by no leads or revelation about Yigon and his family's affairs or relationship but correct me if I'm wrong, this plot point never gets brought up again.
Besides that, I'll agree its starting to drag a bit and each chapter, not much happens, like this chapter is literally just them meeting in that room, going home and Taekang listing his boundary and then his thoughts. BRO we could've have a whole few days in one chapter. If the author wants this to work, she needs to focus on their feelings and thought processes and the actual act of falling in love rather than the smut and sex, which has been replacing actual conversations. These two really are not communicating.
I agree this manhwa has been too long, especially the 2nd season. Surprisingly I am still reading and interested. The 2nd season about their past lives definitely could've been condensed bc it was unnecessarily long. Writing could've been done better, esp more focus on Ian's relationship with Lorkan paired with the reveal that he has been scheming from the beginning would've hit harder had we seen their relationship. I can prob predict how this will end. But I just wanted to talk about the art. It has gotten better in some areas and then worse it some. The lips are a hit or miss, often making them look weird especially when Ian laughs. They do this squiggly outline of this lips... But at the same time, the faces, hair, and clothing look more textured and realistic/3D.
yeah i think the art direction and storyboarding of this manhwa is really good but the script writing is pretty weak- i feel like whoever wrote it just took it straight from the novel instead of trying to adapt it better to a visual format. like this pacing would be okay in the novel format, but it's too lengthy for a manhwa. way too much exposition.
I came back here for the side stories and just learned about the author's crashout on twitter. Can readers on illegal/streaming sites shut the fuck up. Stop posting this shit everywhere and tagging the authors. Mangago has been a trustworthy website since forever. Are these hoes stupid? I thought this new generation supposed to be smart. This is literally the reason why Painter of the Night was no longer translated and posted on Mangago. PLEASE stop talking and posting about this website or reading works on illegal websites online. These people really be ruining everybody else's fun. STFU and read your free shit.
came here to say this but you already did, so thank you, just gonna piggy back off of this.
to everyone; this is piracy. we are reading free-shit, illegally. REMEMBER: we are not entitled to free-shit. the author has a right to be mad. so being pissy at the author is really immature. you should be pissy at everyone who can't keep a secret. this is speakeasy shit people, and if you can't comprehend that, you really should save up your lunch money and just buy the damn chapters. otherwise, you're ruining it for everyone else.
it's been happening with online stories a lot, so even japanese ones as well. i know that manga authors particularly are not happy about piracy either, but their comments always stem from they have physically sales, and online scantalations can impede their physical sales (their only form of income). i know that digital manhwa authors do feel particularly spurred because sites like lehzin take most of their sales anyway, so piracy really particularly feels bitter to them.
Over the recent years, manhwas have overtaken manga in popularity due to the colors, art, and how it's easy to read because of how the panels are sized and situated. Koreans are also the most vocal about the piracy thing cos of their online culture - imagine having a Japanese having a public crash out It's just that Koreans, are well, not always the best. The bullying in manhwas are not exaggerated. You see how their celebrities are treated online? I did not expect Euja to be like that but I was not surprised either. Just disappointing. But I saw comment below who has a black/white outlook that we're not allowed to support her because we're still illegal readers. Doesn't mean we don't have empathy and can't understand where she's coming from. These new gen have no empathy, and are entitled fucks. If we lose the entire site, it's on them, not the authors
THIS is how you write a story about a messed up ML. Like others said...this is peak. I kept seeing this occasionally in my feed and thought oh its prob just another toxic seme and boring ass story I've read a thousand times before but from the first couple of chapters, I knew this had potential. Everything from the way this is structured, jumping into the past, the way the MCs interact with each other, and the reveal of Seo-in's state of mind with why he acts the way he does or behaves the way he does to how he truly feels is masterfully done. It doesn't feel like his backstory is an afterthought and a justification for how he behaves. It feels like we as an audience is growing with the MCs and seeing them work out their issues, truly understand themselves and each other and eventually develop a true meaningful relationship.
Although I also find this "getting together with my dead sibling's lover" trope to be rather distasteful, I think this manga does a much better job with this trope. Often times it can feel disrespectful to the dead partner and just feel like the sibling is a replacement. However in this manga, the ending is more open ended and the focus is more on Yukito trying to find happiness again step by step. It's clear they don't immediately end up together with the line "I don't have all the answers yet...just hope we can see the sunflowers together next summer". I felt this was a sweet story that did not harp on the "fucking my dead sibling's lover" but rather on finding comfort in the small moments and rediscovering happiness.

At this point, I know we all thinking he either has amnesia or goes into a coma after this accident. I actually really pray and hope that that will not be the case. It's too cliche, overdone and boring. If the title has any bearing on this manhwa, I really hope like many predicted amnesia but with the twist that he's fakng it. We NEED something different--something that FLIPS THE SCRIPT. Maybe pretend to be crippled? Or pretending to lose intelligence? This needs to be done right or I'm crashing out.
You might be interested in Red Mansion. There is a ton of insanity and lying and just straight crazy in there. Very fun and different and its completed.
