although i understand that most of their misunderstandings? and problems were caused by the people around them like ash + winter’s parents but still! it just frustrates me how he didn’t notice a big ass red flag when she flat out told him “if i die would u attend my funeral” like is that something someone would just say???? especially of a “spoiled” princess they talk of . sheesh

They lack communication.
This manhwa would reduce to half if they had proper communication
Winter got some high trust issues And the lack of communication between them makes the relationship between them easy to break

That’s because he seems to find communication unimportant. He just assumes that all a noble lady, let alone princess needs money and she will be happy. He doesn’t know anything about noble world and how important the support of a husband is. But it’s also not his fault fully she doesn’t know,
1. I think she didn’t try (before) enough to communicate with him either or talk about her problems, explain them. Pretty much all she asked was for him to go with her to the parties.
2. Let’s not forget how she doesn’t even know about things he gave her, for example dresses, because of his parents. So even tho he had his way of showing her interest, she didn’t know about it cause of his family and her brother

Believe me.. I am not making excuse for him.. He is just so utterly bumpkin stupid that this is an insult to all bumpkin exist.. This is all because of his twisted bground.. How when he found out people treat him the way they want because he have something they want.. So he live his life believing as long as he can provide what they "want" he can keep or make people do what he wants.. I just wna smack him n said.. Exactly. Not to mention he knows nothing of noble world. Idc what anyone says, I actually like him. I think people are being a bit unfair, he may not be a good husband but he’s not as horrible as people paint him to be. Before I started reading that and I’ve read opinions I thought he would be so so much worse. That’s why I wasn’t sure if I wanna read it.

She thinks that he misunderstood that he need to give her that as she is a princess, so she demands it..so she herself, resell all those things

1. To show she doesnt need them, so rest a bit from making money and give her some of his time instead

2. To give him the things he love most, which is money, cz he never stops spending his whole time in making them in every breath he takes

Even when she tried, he pushed her away telling her that he's busy... would u expect something from your partner after they say something like that? I wouldn't even look at them after that. Prolly run away since the divorce is not acceptable for him...he needs to know that money doesn't solve everything

Yupp.. It is said she has tried for the past 3years..and in the early chp in the manhwa..after she got out of the closet and ask winter to talk to her because she didnt want to show their dirty laundry to outsiders..

If i remember correctly what i read.. She even tried to ask him to live away from his family because they always twist her words whenever she tries to talk to him n make it seems like she is jz a spoiled princess whining and complaining that her current lifestyle doesnt compare to her life when she was royalty.. What i wish people would realize is.. Violet is a dignified royalty.. Like she has this, vibe, aura, allure and act of a dignified royalty.. Like when she question the train staff disrespectful behavior towards her husband while she is in n after she is in his body n reprimand them to be objective and not biased based on people bground and race.. And how she protects herself/husband when she is in winter's body.. But then..how come when she is as violet, facing her in laws family.. She is so defeated.. Even with the manor staff? Because she has been abused, and proven countless times that no matter what she did they will always be able to paint her the villain to winter.. To the point she had tried everything she could possibly think of yet nothing seems to work.. To the point she lost all hope.. N death was her only salvation..

Ok.. Winter might not be all to blame.. But in his case.. His ignorance is a sin to me.. As he refused to listen more attentively and took his family words at value without confirming himself who is saying the actual truth or to find out any possible other truth that might not be to his knowledge after knowing there is a clash in information between violet and his family.. All that money he gather.. Did he jz spend it to keep people around him n never use them to buy himself knowledge n decent brain for his head? Rather than constantly buying his watch like a one time use item?

But from what we have seen she only asked him out for parties. She didn’t try to initiate like a serious talk to resolve misunderstandings. I mean, idk maybe it’s just me, but if I was in her shoes then I would’ve tried way more then that if I wanted an issue actually resolved. Even if it was through something shocking like screaming, breaking something or whatever. She was never stern with him and that’s the problem. She asked him out for parties and stuff but never actually tried to talk things out or make him understand. At least from my perspective.
In no way I’m saying that it’s all her fault, because yes, he is very ignorant. I just feel tho like he gets too much shit, cause being honest both parties are at fault. I get that it might be her character that she couldn’t straight up stand up to him or demand things but him not finding communication important is the way he was raised. He knows nothing about noble lives. There is a lot to consider here. That’s why I think they are both at fault. Because everyone acts like he’s such a horrible husband and yeah he was bad but he ain’t horrible. We could see that he does actually love her and thinks about her, that he wants to make her happy and basically revolves his whole life and work just to meet her expectations and give her the best. So personally I do like him. He reminds me kinda of those rich parents who work to give their kids the best but forget that kids actually need physical and emotional affection more then money. He’s not a bad person. It’s just miscommunication from both sides and their families interference.
But again its just my opinion.

i do get what you guys mean cause she did indeed only usually asked him to go to parties with her, but IMO, during that one time when she just got out of the closet, she BEGGED to talk to him and he thought she was there to waste his time, glad he went to search for her when he noticed the blood marks, but still, its a bit upsetting to see him think she was there to just waste his time. i understand what u guys r saying though, the interference with the people around them is what makes the two of them miscommunicate and misunderstand each other more, AND the fact that they’re both insecure in someways like a) winter thinks he doesnt deserve violet b) violet thinks winter’s seeing someone else due to the dresses

Yeah. But that closet situation. I think that also the fault of manipulation HES under. Like everyone is talking how Violet is a victim of abuse (she is and that’s in no way a unimportant matter), but no one tries to see how he is a victim of manipulation. Like he has been manipulated since he was a child, not only that but by the people he considers his family and saviors. They gave him life when he had nothing or anyone, obviously he’s gonna be influenced by their opinions more then some random princess he has married. Manipulation is not something u can easily notice or get out from. His parents fake live for him to keep him close and keep using him, he never had anyone so no one was a threat to their agenda but not that he does they try to distance him from her and keep him close to themselves. That reminds me kind of how cults act. He’s a victim here too, manipulation can be very deeply rooted and very, very hard to notice or get out from no matter how obvious it may seem. Especially if it’s done since child and by someone u consider your family.

Love*, now*. Like I’m in no way try to justify his bahavior, he acted horribly. But I just think that situation is not as black and white as people see it. There are so many factors to consider.

agreed yeah, im in no way forgetting that he was (and STILL is) a victim of manipulation. was just sad to see that that’s what he thought she was trying to do. indeed there ARE many factors to the behaviour they show in the manhwa

personally, im not painting him as a villain, because the villains here are DEFINITELY their families, but i think most people got upset with some of his actions well because they had the effect that they did on violet, even if his actions didnt have bad intentions, they certainly did carry their own weight you know?? like how he was misunderstood to not care about her by violet herself and the nobles and literally everyone else around them because he didnt clear the air about it at the start. those werent his intentions, but it still sent the wrong impression ¯_(ツ)_/¯ glad that their relationship is slowly improving and ?hopefully is only gonna get stronger in d upcoming chapters

Yeah I didn’t mean u. I meant people who plainly just paint him as a villain, call him trash, horrible husband and all. Like he ain’t a good husband but he’s not horrible. And I feel like those people don’t consider overall situation to much and just blindly hate him. I don’t support his actions either, i think he acted like an asshole and we have full right to criticize him. Just I don’t get putting all blame on him and making him into some most horrible human being ever. Which I’ve seen a LOT of people do.
