Update: I read all available chapters on the official site (it’s free so you should too). The guy’s only moment of redemption was when he realized that he fucked up in prioritizing work over staying by his wife’s side during labor and as a result made her completely vulnerable to his sociopathic relatives. I was definitely feelin some schadenfreude when he ugly cried. That prick was long overdue for a reality check. And so now his options are (A) let baby die (B) let wife die (C) maybe save baby and leave wife brain dead. Ch. 16 Jieun's heart sticker is whole, and clearly presented to all/reader (most importantly Sangwoo). I'd say this is akin to 'wearing one's heart on their sleeve' since this is when she realizes that she is in love with Sangwoo. It's located on the left cheek (side visible to Sangwoo during the duet and, in anatomical terms, the side of the body where her physical heart is located).
Ch. 17 Sangwoo rejects her twice in favor of Bum. Note there is also a heart on her chest (a cutout). Initial panels the heart on her chest are drawn without any distortion, but panels after Sangwoo rejects her (such as going to another pub sans Bum) the heart appears to have a large crack in it. You could say it's to depict her breasts, but stay with me....
Ch. 18 They finally have sex. The closeups of Jieun favor her left where the heart sticker is. Then as we get closer to her death, be it shadows, her hair, or tears, the heart is increasingly obscured compared to earlier chapters. At the end, she witnesses Sangwoo confess to Bum that he planned to sacrifice her all along so that he and Bum could ‘be truly together until death’. Wowza, that’s one way be turned down.
Ch. 19/20 Sangwoo tells Bum to kill her. Bum confuses Jieun for a childhood friend that broke his heart and consequently stabs Jieun in the chest/upper abdomen 12 times, presumably hitting her heart too. After her death and in all shots of the gruesome, bloody corpse the heart is gone.
Ch. 21 The next time we see Jiuen, she is a cold, lifeless body. When Bum turns to look at her for the first time since killing her, we see the heart sticker *clearly* broken/torn down the middle. If nothing else, that part you can agree on.
In conclusion… Sangwoo + Bum are literal heartbreakers. lol. Poor Jieun.
