It's subtle, but we do see ysh dressed down lounging in yq's prison bed w yq covered in lovebites........... and.... in the novel...., ysh is pretty set on his preferred torture methods. first few times it's just building up to it... but still rough... starts w fondling, harsh bondage play, & handjob to yq the 1st night (when yq threatens ys with the king and ysh laughs it off). Then it evolves gradually until a toy is added & then eventually ysh seals the deal trumphantly. Up until the shitty king fesses up that is. Altho ysh frankly doesn't feel a fraction of how awful he should've imo!! Plus i'm like 78% sure he kept at it after but at that point i was too scared by yq going full stockholm to continue. honestly, i regret mtl-ing so bad, bc it was made all that worse with it all being ysh's pov.

Wowww, didn’t expect the novel to be so dark, reminds me of another one about the bandit that mistook the emperor for a woman and took him to be his bride, but got raped instead and the story goes on and on and on about the horrible rape and it’s just ughhhhhh.... I mean I’ve read angsty stories that were borderline psychotic, but like you gotta be more creative than the ‘rape trope’

This is so true, I've read so many novels and comics that have the "rape trope" in them and I've sadly became a bit desensitized towards it. Like I know rape is never ok but I read so many different scenarios where the victim and attacker get together anyway so by the end of the comic/novel the rape has been pushed to the background and it doesn't really get mentioned again like it never even happened to begin with.
