Jooin has to be one of the most unlikeable MCs in a BL and his actions just don't make sense. This isn't even about which side you are on, but moreso that the story is just not well written and things were clearly added in after the fact. Nothing can really save this story at this point.
I'm not 100%, but i think the MC must be saying he loves the Seo Iimo (the killer). Because he says "anxious that he might love me" and we know that the ex(jeong yeon) doesn't love him otherwise he wouldn't have used him like that.
Plus the MC nevers looks back his ex, but looks at Seo Iimo with no issues.
He can’t be loving Seo at this point. I think he’s referring to the one-sided love most characters have here, Psycho > MC > Douche ex, and now we’re being introduced to the abusive relationship of the IT guy, so… abuser > IT guy. They all think it’s love what they feel, but is it?
