I kinda like the emperor as the endgame instead, even though I know the blondie is the male lead. If only they resolve that one misunderstanding. I like his unconditional love for the female lead, but he's just way too dumb for me. Like, he sees the outcome of his actions towards her fiancé and still chooses to push through with his stupid plan, which clearly backfires and further puts the female lead in a difficult situation. And I agree that he's the type to neglect his children if the female lead ever dies.
Will this show a full smut scene or just some snippets here and there?
I’m just waiting for him to end with someone and finally accept his destiny as a character in a Bl world. Every chapter is just him being a bystander or deflecting Bl plots. I’m kinda getting tired with the plot.

They're not really giving step-siblings, it seems more like a childhood friends-to-lovers trope. Like they were aware they weren't siblings and it was a favor between the parents, for her to stay with them. He was even annoyed she was using his family's money. It's similar to stories where they live near each other/ are neighbors, & they are constantly together because of their parents' friendship.
It's kinda cute if no one will sleep with a third party.
