In all honesty, I watched the anime of this because of the seiyuus involved (yeah, I'm familiar of their other works). Although, yes, the way they wrote the flow of the story disappointed me a bit, especially the part where they annihilated the whole Moriarty household.
I like the way the manga portrayed that scene compared to the anime. And also, I was saddened when they skipped at least two arcs and jumped over to the train arc.
I understand if the anime tried to cut down some scenes and limit some fire. I kinda expected it actually. The manga is very maddening and explores more to the human psychology. And I'm intrigued.
But still, props to the animation and the OSTs and the opening OH MY GOD, it sent goosebumps all over my arms. The animation was amazing actually. It wasn't disappointing at least. And I love it.
Best part, the SEIYUUS. For me, they slayed it. They absolutely did justice for their characters. They portrayed them WONDERFULLY. Especially William's role. God, Saito Soma, your voice is so....! I didn't really expect Furukawa makoto to use that kind of voice to voice Sherlock but...hats off to these seiyuus for doing a ln amazing job to give these characters life.
Anyway, these are just my opinions. No hate please. It's been a while since ranted like this. (• ▽ •;)
Haha I agree. Although I only watched a few episodes from the anime(Lol I need to finish watching it), there were quite a few changes from the manga and a lot of the scenes were cut down. Even though it wasn’t as good as the manga(in my opinion), I’m glad that there was even a anime adaptation to this. And I really enjoyed hearing what the characters would sound like, and like you said, the animation was great! Overall, the anime was good but I personally enjoy the manga much better. It was a nice experience tho-
Oh god Saitou Souma's "Catch me if you can Mr Holmes" was just- his voice was just sooooo..! Tbh i started this anime just because of the seiyuus and now im loving the manga, i could spot a few differences between the anime and the manga but i didnt really mind it, well if i could say it i wanted both the brother and the mother to die in a cruel way in the anime
