Reading comprehension has truly gone down for people damn. This story is so easy to follow and surprisingly well thought out. Even back to ch1. Compared to stories that have no clear goal like Yours to Claim, Backlight is Godsend. And the art makes it *chefs kiss*

i wouldnt say defending, because it is true in this case. think of it as someone being born in a cult—its not easy to get out of one purely because of the beliefs that have been ingrained into your mind since birth. i must admit though that the way the the ml was presented in the beginning was misleading, but this 180 change isn't that much surprising. we can only hope the author does justice to the ml as a character and not end up making him 1-dimensional.
