They’re both dumb and toxic, I love that for them

orphaxx July 25, 2025 2:49 am

I’ll be honest, I don’t care about the plot and mokhwas old boss. Let it be. I want them to be happy and living a normal life PLEASE. There are enough manhwas with drama and angst Let them both have peace. I need more blushing and smiling mokhwa moments or when nakwon sees that he behaving a little differently and goes insane inside his brain while blushing like crazyyyyy

It’s really insane how dumb some people here are. OF COURSE IT MATTERS WHAT HAPPENED to him as a child. Some of y’all talk like you never met a traumatised person who never had any therapy in RL. Is he an Asshole? Obviously. But the way he treats people goes way deeper than being a simple asshole and I’m really sorry for anyone who can’t think deeper than that.

Took me a while to find someone with an actual working brain. I've seen this not only in manhwas but in video game characters as well. Yes, there are people who don't grow up to be a bad person despite their terrible past but the cycle of abuse CAN continue for some people, it's seen here and it seemed like there was no one to correct Jaekyung hence why he completely closed his heart off because the people who should cherish him the most abandoned him as a child. Just because there is a reason why he's like that, doesn't mean it's excusing it. I hate it when people say that oml

but he was removed from that environment and had time to grow and adjust. it's not that he was locked into that environment into adulthood or that nobody helped him. he had the adoptive boxer family that cared for him greatly and the coach shielded him from bullies his age.

the problem is, he's needed anger management and no one called him out on his violence outside of the ring until it went too far and resulted in suspension. he's rude, entitled, and violent.

but yes. often when authors use abusive upbringing, it's not to show how far someone's come, if they've backslid, or even to give actual context into their behavior. it's almost always an excuse, whether or not the author intends it to be that way. it's almost always handled clumsily.

as it is, when people do terrible things in reality, we use the context of their behavior and their connection to reality to determine whether they can understand right and wrong. we don't let people go just because they've suffered. they have no right to regurgitate that suffering on other people. we can also understand where they've come from and not excuse their behavior. it's not that they never had any chance at all, it's that what chances they did have to break the cycle, they rejected.

you're basically making the same point, no one is excusing his behavior here. OP's comment was aimed towards people who think his upbringing is codeword IRRELEVANT to how he is now as an adult. Do you see how many comments are saying his backstory doesn't matter? It wasn't meant to excuse his behavior, it was to point out that the way he was treated as a child is a FACTOR to how he acts right now.
