Just say that he reminds you of someone you once loved centuries ago(since he knows you are supernatural and all that) but you don't want to move forward until you are certain that your new feelings are genuine. Yeah it won't not hurt at all, but better to explain than to just lie and say you don't like him.

But I wish he had finished his thought. He should have read them all for filth. Say it loud right there and then in front of everyone. That until his curse lifted and until he was officially made the heir and head of the household, that no one but Ibee cared for him. That the family name means jack shit to him because of how fickle everyone, including his parents, are.
In the abstract the head maid wasn't wrong. If this was a normal noble family that is. But this situation is anything but normal. And so complications of status should have been handled in a more open way. Ibee is too much of a push over and is convinced that she is just a mob character. The head maid is just doing things the "normal" way, where noble men have a lot of power and the only way a maid can survive is to sneak around. And Ale is unused to having adults he can trust. What should have happend is that the head maid should have asked to speak to both Ale and Ibee at the same time. But we wouldn't be having all this drama to keep us all waiting for the next chapter then. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
