Totally agree.
Not found of this type of ML, but I do appreciate the way the story is going. It's rare for powerful and rich crazy possessive ML to loose everything and have to start from scratch. It's a good thing it's not a sudden magic "i forgive all the crap you pulled before" and he can be tough the proper way to healthy relationship.
Since I know those two will end up together anyway. I hope he will learn how to have descent though and properly make it up to MC.
