I'm so confused what u mean... there was no part where I felt that the prince would become ml. It'd be more odd if she was cheerful if she experienced death over and over again. She knows she can die at any moment bc she's experienced so many times and ppl are actively coming for her. Why would she be constantly smiling or having funny thoughts to entertain the readers?? the other characters are already setting the comedy scenes... There are parts were she smiles and stuff but ofc it's not constant. If you want an expression filled fl this is obvi not for you. Having less expressions doesn't make a character "boring"
