It's perfectly normal to set up the main lead while him and the female lead are both young so the story can further develop them down the line. There isnt anything inappropriate, its literally a cute crush. Had you never had them when you were young? Its all hella innocent.
Youre allowed not to like it, but it feels a bit backwards cuz its really not this grand steamy romance or whatever, the most they do is hold hands and blush.

Acting as if u didn't have any crushes as a child plus what they have rn is very wholesome where Lyrica understands Fjord and Lyrica is Fjord's anchor. Where did he go into "heat"? I feel you are misunderstanding the story or jumping to the worst conclusions because you just dont enjoy what you're reading.
The only instance I can imagine you could interpretar him being in "heat" is in a scene where he claims his "bosy is on fire", but the context of that scene is that jis body is feverish because his mother had just beat him with her cane, because she is a piece of shit mother that abuses him.
Any other instance I guess you could call "heat" is him just blushing because he has a crush on Lyrica, but none of these comment on him being in heat or having any sexual feelings for Lyrica, specially because Im sure he doesnt even understand feelings like that, since he is a child.
I find it more creepy that you are imprinting these sexual themes onto Lyrica's and Fjord's relationship when it has been nothing but wholesome.
