Andrew needs to work on himself. He has been through a lot which has gravely damaged his confidence and a person cannot rely on another person to fix that for them because that relationship is gonna be toxic as hell. I pity Andrew because his love is genuine but he must emerge from his shell because he comes off as pathetic. He does everything to please the person he loves and I think in the future this is detrimental. I was hoping seeing another person take away Nathan would pull him out of his shell but it didn't. I was irritated with both of them tbh but I did see both their perspective and I think it's realistic. Well it's interesting to see what's going to happen next.
Honestly finally someone w common sense. Itâs honestly irritating at some point when people reduce these characters into some senseless tropes when theyâre more than that. Like you said Andrew has deep rooted issues, esp with the way he was raised that plays a role in his future relationship. Nathan knows what he wants and he knows heâs not the type to chase attention of people who donât want to give it to him, thatâs his flaw. Andrew relies heavily on Nathan to guide him on their sexual relationship which would be fine if he was honest but he also kept pushing away Nathan which was his flaw. They both have flaws as characters and theyâre both realistic in a sense so idk why ppl keep villainizing Nathan whilst portraying Andrew as a damsel smh
I havenât read it in a while so forgive any misinfo. But the flirting/cheating part was so wrong of Nathan, thatâs probably why Iâm more pissed at him. Besides that, I can see both are in wrong and not just one.
Honestly I hope these two wonât get back together if they arenât gonna discuss it properly without one running away like a coward and the other being too harsh.
I kinda re-read some parts bc itâs also been a while for me but in the early chapters when the other TA asks Nathan if theyâre boyfriends, Nathan says no. Itâs pretty clearly that Nathan by character is pretty sexual and heâs open about his feelings regarding sex. One thing thatâs important to Nathan is sexual compatibility which we donât get to see much of in the story, and I think thatâs why Nathan gets ticked off so much. Sexual compatibility is pretty important in a lot of relationships so I can kinda see his pov but imo I think it wouldâve done him better to address the elephant in the room. Andrew thought they were dating but for Nathan it wasnât really like that, like I believe he did harbor feelings for Andrew but again sexual compatibility is a huge thing for him so he was testing the waters almost. A lot of their issues couldâve been resolved quicker if there was honesty and communication involved but this is pretty realistic so I canât be too mad abt it. Though they both need to work on themselves
While sexual compatibility is important, for a better and stable relationshipâtalking and not turning away partners with insecurities is a big step in helping a relationship. And I thought they were together, but someone told me yes and the current conflict is just the past before they got together. WHEW!

While yes, talking and helping partners out with their doubts is apart of relationships, I do think that you also have to work on yourself. You canât be reliant on your partner alone bc thereâs only so much they can do and help with. I think Andrew took the first step and acknowledged his faults and his insecurities but I also understand Nathan, though I donât like how he went on abt it. The fact of the matter is a lot of people break up because they donât want to be the âfixerâ or a âtherapistâ in relationships bc it tends to be taxing on peopleâs mental health. You can absolutely lean on your partner for help but you also need to learn how to handle your problems individually. Nathan in the early chapters made it clear that sexual compatibility is one of his top priorities in relationships and heâs not a chaser. Heâs not going to waste time on people who donât give him what he needs/deserves. Imo Nathan is a person who relies on physical touch and Andrew constantly pushed him away or ran off, so he obv felt bad. He didnât see that andrew was trying his best for him and was practicing, which I donât blame him for but I did expect a little bit more from him in terms of communication. Bc at the end of the day he does like Andrew so I was frankly kind of annoyed at him that he didnât try to resolve the issue but at the same time, Nathan knows what he wants and he isnât willing to chase someone who he thinks doesnât share similar beliefs w ig??
