Chase's background is still pretty ominous and there's a lot to cover. Though, it's pretty clear that his developing trust in Josh is causing him to finally let out that childish side that his family tried to suppress within him since he was a child.
Tbh, even without that mark, who wouldn't fall for someone like Josh? Hello?! He's perfect.
I'm giving it ANOTHER benefit of the doubt lol, that Byul only knows the story to an extent but not fully. He's still a teenager, he can be dumb and emotional just like we were. It'll be a much bigger problem if his mindset doesn't change AFTER Hyesung sits his ass down and tell him what his grandmother really did to him.
I'm not against forgiveness, no, but they've already established that Hyesung would rather cut his mother off because the hurt ran deep and that's OKAY. You don't always have to forgive people, just quietly remove them from your life. It just doesn't make sense for the author to make Hyesung to forgive his mother now because what, his teenage son threw a tantrum? Oh my days.

Man FUCK Dojin, he doesn't even seem genuine when he "apologized". I liked this story in the beginning. It's a shame they had to use Hyesung's serious trauma as a stepping stone for Byul and Siwoo's relationship. A real shame.
