Ok so I found out this is a spin off. And the original (Renai fuyuki) do not read it btw was so hard to read and the storyline and dialogue was so confusing. It seems the author hasn’t learned how to create a flowing storyline so I’m guessing this will be confusing to read as wel
Honestly I put off reading this for the longest time because I couldn’t get through the first chapter. And I wanted to read this after seeing the spin off. And the storyline and dialogue is so confusing I feel like I wasted my time. Also rape is brushed off so easily

Yo wtf. I’m reading these comments and some people are hating on mafyuu. The boy is allowed to have feelings and let’s not forget that yuki died only A YEAR ago. It took me more than that to move forward from someone close to me that passed away.
And a lot of y’all don’t seem to understand what depression is which is why so many people fall deeper into it. Yes people can call out and help you and hang out with you but you feel isolated in your own emotions and feel that no one completely understands you.
A lot of pity is felt towards mafyuu but I see him as a really strong person to be able to surround himself with new people and find closure with his old friends. And it obviously takes a lot from a person for themselves to take action and work on moving out of depression.
I do think that mafyuu doesn’t need a boyfriend rn and just needs the support of his friends because he needs to step back and work on himself first. However, I feel that people think that mafyuu is only dating ue because he sees yuki in him, but I believe all the memories mafyuu sees of yuki in uenoyama is him confronting the fact that hes gone and is allowing himself to make new memories with more people.

very few people r actu hating on him lol. i think most r just frustrated bc they feel as though mafuyu hasn't fairly treated ueno, and the story has to yet acknowledge that directly, so we don't know whether it's comparison or him letting go n creating new memories. this isn't a defence for the hate on maufyu ofc! i agree w everything u said n love him ): i hope we get more development of him n just focus on him and ueno,,, i just want him. to be. happy
i'm pissed that people think that Mafuyu see Yuki and Ue are the same. He's basically seeing the similarities of the situation and he IS actively working on himself to be better, same with Ue who's never been in a relationship before - and with a boy at that

Hmmm I generally agree with you but I do strongly believe Ueno reminds him a lot of Yuki. tbh it's not even Mafuyu it's the WHOLE manga that make it looks like Ueno is a replacement. like even Mafuyu's friends treat him like that, the whole situation is framed the same way and Ueno was deadass forced to get inside Yuki's mind (who is a stranger to him) to finish that song. that just feels weird the way Ueno is treated by this STORY. I personally cannot see how all this is letting go of memories and not just drowning urself further into the past. And on the subject of Mafuyu himself, especially with this newest chapter, to me it looks like he is unable to separate the two and for him to overcome this obstacle is to realize this time things are DIFFERENT.
I agree that mafyuu sees yuki in uenoyama BUT that is not the only reason he’s with him. And I felt the need to type what I said out mostly in defense of Mafyuu against the people who called him selfish, that he was using uenoyama as his replacement boyfriend and him not wanting to be reached out by other ppl. Also I think I worded out the last paragraph cus I was angry but I was trying to explain how mafyuu, not what the story portrays uenoyama to be, knows that uenoyama is not yuki and that he is trying to move forward and reflect on his past. But that’s all my interpretation. I was mostly focused on defending the people attacking mafyuus personality and character.

I guess there aren't really any other big conflict on the main story. Or it's just an excuse for the author to draw more steamy scenes.
