What I don't understand is why couldn't they have reconciled without xiaouxue and dawu dying? WHY

I don't think they died...the last chapter said "we haven't searched for them" and "meet them again".

Okay. I think this is such a well-executed love triangle. Like, all people involved in the love triangle are nice and kind and not needlessly cruel like the ones I've read so far. I usually root for the guy who the MC would least likely end up with (in this case takimoto), but in this manga I honestly didn't mind if the MC ends up with either of them.
But, I have to say that Takimoto is still my favorite character in the story. Like, really, he's so niceeeee! He could've used his leg to make Gamou feel guilty (I honestly expected for that scene to happen), but he didn't. He didn't get angry at Gamou when (I think) he had every right to. He's just so pure.
Ok, I read this the second time today. And I wonder if I'm the only one who doesn't want Kang to end up with Dunno? I love their characters both, but I don't think they should be together. It would be really self-destructive for Kang especially since he seems possessive and I honestly can't see Dunno being willing to be treated as someone's possession.
To be honest, I think it would be much painful if Touma died
