miscommunication without the blueballs is suddenly one of the worst types of miscommunications

I really really loved this series. Season 1 to me is miles better simply because I found the characters more charming and likeable. Season 2 I couldn't connect with the characters as much but the stories were still just as engaging. I love how realistic the portrayals of all the relationships are. In so few chapters the characters undergo so much growth and even if there's room for more growth I like how realistic it was to show that the characters aren't perfect and were still working on their own progress. They were assh*les and selfish at times, but that's something you run the risk of finding in any relationship.

Certain things I really liked is that this is probably the first time I see a character who is a virgin (Jinwoo) portray one so differently? So many times you either get the stereotypical blushing virgin who for whatever reason falls into bed with the other lead but they don't go deep into that if it makes sense? it goes something like:
"I'm a virgin."
"Okay, I will take your virginity."
"Bet."

But in season 1 we have Jinwoo who sets his boundaries and doesn't want to rush into anything and Kisub respects that and they go at his pace (there are hijinks involved yes, that makes it that much better) have great communication when it comes to that.

Ray started off as a character I thought I would dislike but he really redeemed himself, so well I ended up rooting for him. I like that these stories don't dig deep into backstories but we get an idea of why Ray is the way he is to explain his actions. Very different to Sun/Seon who just acts horrible because he is horrible. I like that they didn't give us more background on him because some people just are plainly horrible, there's not always a tragic childhood story/experience to reason it.

I like how we got one side of Kisub when the story was being told through basically Jinwoo's eyes but once that flipped and we were shown his point of view we got to see the type of person Jinwoo had fallen in love with (a great one with some flaws!) because I had my doubts sometimes lol.

All in all this was such a delightful read, the art style really just adds something more to what is a really great realistic portray of friendships and relationships. 10/10

As others have said, this had some potential but didn't really go no where. At least there's a happy ending I guess? Can't help but wonder if the author meant to make this a story focusing on multiple individuals/couples with all stories being connected to the cafe, because that kinda felt like where it was going for a while and is why it feels like it jumps a lot and they introduced side characters that didn't add much at all.

I enjoyed this, mostly as a baseball fan. It was a fun read but idk by the end I kept thinking how the relationship isn't all that healthy??

Hyun's WHOLE world revolves around Youngjoon and only Youngjoon and has so for over 7-10 yrs, it's a bit...much? And idk if it's just me but Hyun just felt very manipulative throughout the whole story, Youngjoon keeps saying he's weak to Hyun and I guess we're supposed to find that funny but it just kept showing how easy he was to manipulate. The whole relationship from an outsider's POV just looks unhealthy with Hyun's obsession over Youngjoon.

I guess I'm glad the author added that epilogue where Youngjoon says he's become just as obsessed with Hyun but that just made it a bit less unhealthy I guess.

Anyway, I guess if you don't overthink it much this was cute and sweet?

I get the whole being in a kpop group and secretly fucking is part of the main plotline but I really wish they had made the group just 5 members? I keep forgetting who's who. And it doesn't help that some look alike and their hair colors are different from predebut to now. when Dawol said Eun Hyun is a homophobic I really yelled WHOMST??? I reread from the first chapter again just to see if this man was ever even mentioned/shown before and he got maybe 3 or 4 panels in total in a whole 38 chapters lmaoo

Should have just kept the group as Dojin Yuwon Dawol Jihyuck and Haesung (?) since they're the only ones even mentioned. Like who the fuck is the other 7th member then jskkasa

So if you're like me and started reading this because you thought it was complete you're in a for a rude awakening when you get to the end of chapter 87 because it ends on a cliffhanger and according to the site where the comic originally came from this series has been discontinued.

Spoilers ahead...

To save yourself this heartache you can end the story for yourself at chapter 52 where Tony's story pretty much ends. And honestly I wish I had because the third couple (Sean and Jake) and their story was pretty depressing and had all these twists and turns. It gets lighter and a bit happier? by the end of the last two chapters but there are still so many questions left unanswered which were going to be answered in I'm guessing season 3 (which never happens). If you want to see a bit more of Tony he does appear throughout the third couple's story along with Will (but honestly it's very few appearances until the very end). There is no Terry or Mike though, with the exception of some mentions of them.

Not for the first two seasons (ch1-52) I will say this was a fun and original read and you end up feeling a lot for all characters. I like how even though the plot itself is kind of crazy lol, you have some very realistic characters in these stories. The way they react to everything is so realistic because you have some characters that are kind of selfish but also grow as the story goes which isn't something you'd expect with this kind of plot.

I'm not sure if this was a translations issue or just how the story originally unfolds, but it's confusing at times? Like there is no actual plot? The whole superpower element feels like it was just thrown in out of no where and how it related to the characters' relationship was kinda confusing at times.

This just lacked a lot of emotion I guess.

So Siwon got annoying very fast lol. I made it up to chapter 20 where he kinda gets better but is still frustrating and irritating af and I really wanted to finish this and thought "he prob gets a lot better right?" I mean I only had maybe 10 chapters to go but I just stopped there because at that point I didn't even care if he did get a bit better... I almost wish he would have done some truly terrible things to justify my hating him so much but no he was just annoying af holy crap.

kikijiji created a topic of Dating my way up

I think this had some great potential to get some good character and plot development, but it felt like the author wrapped up what could have been a potential second season into 5 chapters. Once you get to chapter 19-20 it felt like it could have ended the first season there and left on a cliffhanger for a new season but my theory is the author was told there would be no second season or they wanted to just finish this quickly and be done with it (even the author's afterword was short and rushed lol...).

If you were intrigued by the potential side couple like I was, sad to say nothing really happens there as they pretty much disappear by the last 6 or so chapters and are never seen again.
