At this point imma guess what's gonna happen these next couple of chapter bc it's fun. First guess is he loses the match but Dan's gm dies that day so he's AWOL and JK realizes just how much he needs Dan when Dan isn't there. 2nd guess, Dan gets kidnapped and JK is forced to lose the fight maybe? Idk if this one is realistic just cus I don't think he would really give up a fight for Dan at this point.

Got a little triggered by this, not only bc I have been in a long term unhealthy relationship, but also work in the field. At first I thought it was the bf and his spirit wanting to control MC even in the after life. When MC is remembering bit of his past, you can see in the panel about their fights he had a bruised cheek, he was isolated bc his bf didn't like his friends, and the dead bf made the decision to cut off MC's parents (despite them also being toxic/abusive) for him. Considering how aggressive MC gets when the ML asks him if his bf was like this while living or calls out the behavior as abusive, it's the way some victims may react. Even the conversation MC and ML have about sleeping pills and getting potentially SA, him not caring or just being so nonchalant feels like he has no boundaries. How he talks about himself. Idk it all just screamed DV and abuse to me. Now that there's this thing about the 15yo I'm not too sure but just my two cents.
