I don't think so, I personally think the dad was trying to mend the relationship (though it's not obvious), and because of the past, Seunghee keeps running away from it. I think both of the parents are generally okay now, I doubt they would hurt Seunghee, maybe say some mean things (like what a parent would say when theyre disappointed in their child for being bad or getting bad grades).
